In this session Mike explores the need to develop the multiplication concept in a sequential manner, through the development of connections between the different areas of multiplication. You will walk away from this session with the ability to take either your class or your entire school through multiplication in a manageable way.

AboutĀ Mike Nelson

Mike Nelson has 3 children and is dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to have success within a mathematics classroom. Mike has been a Maths Learning Specialist for the past 7 years. He has recently created the consulting company Mike Nelson Maths to support schools and educators teaching Maths. Mike has presented at conferences around Australia and has written articles that have been published in Australia and the UK. Mike has created a number of free games, both in collaboration with Dr Paul Swan and on the Mike Nelson Maths YouTube page. Mike has spent 2024 creating lessons for the Department of Education's Victorian Curriculum 2.0 which are free to download.
