Numeracy Teachers Academy

Yes, we can accept payment for individuals or groups from schools. If you have created professional learning goals around Numeracy,  membership of the NTA can assist you to meet these. Your school may be willing to pay for your membership in place of sending you to a PD. Annual access to the NTA membership works out the same price as one PD day but you have access and support for the entire year. The membership allows you to complete your professional learning in your own time, at your own pace.

When you sign up you will receive instant access to the membership portal. In the portal you will find content available straight away, sorted according to your Stage on the NTA Success Path. You can work through this content at your own pace and dip in and out of PD as you wish. You will also have immediate access to our private FB group, LIVE Q & A sessions and their recordings.

Yes! The NTA Professional Development sessions are designed to address the relevant AITSL Standards. As such, all PD hours completed within the portal, count towards Australian teacher PD requirements. 

As you complete NTA PD sessions, certificates of completion will be made available, which you can add to your records.

The NTA PD addresses the following Standards (and more depending on the topic): 

1.2: Understand how students learn.

2.1: Content and teaching strategies of the content area.

2.5: Literacy and Numeracy strategies

3.3:Use teaching strategies

3.4:Select and use resources

For more information on recording your PD, please refer your State/Territory teacher registration body website ie: VIT, QCT, TRBWA, TRB, TRBNT, NESA or TQI.

If you are wanting to share the content with your colleagues, your school will need to purchase a "schools membership". These can be purchased at any time and mean you are able to share the content at PLT meeting or staff meetings where required. You will have access to the NTA portal content and Community Hub for as long as you remain a member.

Yes, you can cancel anytime. However, if you do choose to join at a later date, you will need to pay the current membership rate at the time.

Within the NTA portal you will have access to quality PD training sessions and master classes facilitated by Dr Ange and other experts in the Math Education field. These will improve your own Pedagogical Content Knowledge and provide you with ideas to share with your staff in PLT meetings. There will also be Master Classes looking at content such as using NAPLAN data, setting up and organising resources at your school, developing whole school approaches to topics, setting up maths information nights, promoting Maths at your school and running intervention programs. This content is specifically designed for Numeracy Leaders and will be of great benefit to you. You will also have access to Dr Ange and be able to ask her questions relevant to your school.

Yes, whatever you level of knowledge there is always something new to learn. Dr Ange takes pride in keeping up with the latest research and practice in Maths Education from around the world. You will definitely hone your skills and knowledge further being part of the NTA. 

Welcome! You are in exactly the right place! Dr Ange takes great pride in helping teacher's work on their mindset to maths teaching. Many of the archaic methods employed for teaching maths in the past have had a negative impact on the way current teachers see and teach maths. Dr Ange is passionate about changing this cycle.

Many teachers lack confidence, feel anxious and do their best to avoid teaching maths. The NTA portal provides many short mindset training sessions designed for teachers. The first step in becoming a confident maths teacher is changing the way we see maths. Dr Ange has experience working with hundreds of pre-service teachers, many of whom hate maths when they come into her class. By the time they leave, they have completely changed the way they look at the subject. Dr Ange encourages teachers to look at how they approach maths and where the stressors are coming from. Together they work through these issues and emerge positive and empowered to change the way maths is taught. The NTA provides training with practical steps to slowly help teachers gain confidence in teaching maths, and eventually, believe it or not, come to love maths!

Yes! Dr Ange works with pre-service teachers in her lecturing work at RMIT University. She loves helping students and the content in Stage One will be perfect for you. It will provide you with practical steps to follow in order to set up your classroom from Day One of your teaching career. You will have such a head-start and feel so confident walking into your first Numeracy class!

Yes, if you would like multiple teachers at your school to have access... like all the graduates, or all the Numeracy Leaders, we will happily organise a group price- just let us know before you sign up.

Currently the NTA checkout only accepts Credit cards. We understand that many schools are not able to pay by credit. If this is the case, simply send an email to ange@numeracyteachersacademy.com and we can generate an invoice manually that will allow you to transfer the funds electronically.

One of the great features of the NTA is the Community Hub where you can ask questions of Dr Ange and other NTA members. The Hub works a little like a Facebook Group. The Hub provides a great opportunity to network and share ideas. However, don't feel you have to take part in the Community Hub discussions. You can interact as much or as little as you want!

Dr Ange recommends committing to 1 hour of NTA per week. The PD trainings are all around 1 hour in length so completing one of these per week is recommended. It is important to commit to the NTA, otherwise life gets in the way! Like anything, the more you put in, the more you will get out of the experience!
